The 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center was established in May. The establishment document was signed by eleven leading Polish universities, the Łukasiewicz Research Network, and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

It is BGK that is the author of the 3W Idea, the most important point of which is the appropriate use of three resources: water, hydrogen, and carbon. The initiators of the 3W IIC emphasize that the formula of the Center is not closed and they invite other entities to cooperate.

- The work of the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center is gaining momentum To start with, we decided to set up four working groups to deal with specific areas. We intentionally do not divide these groups into the categories of water, hydrogen, and carbon, because we want a synergistic approach to these resources - said Adam Żelezik, director of the BGK Strategic Initiatives Bureau.

The highlight of the June meeting was the announcement of the creation of four working groups: energy, environmental, logistics, and legislative and legal one. The first three groups will focus on using the synergy of three resources: water, hydrogen, and carbon. The fourth, legislative and legal one, will support the Center by analyzing the existing legal regulations and standards, as well as financing programs that may support projects coordinated in the future by the 3W IIC.

The key task for the coming months will be to review projects in the 3W areas, on which teams from individual universities and research institutes have worked so far. After analyzing this information, the representatives of the 3W IIC will jointly define the directions in the field of science that should be supported and initiated by the Center.
