The new entities in the 3W World - a group of organizations that Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego associates in its water-hydrogen-carbon initiative - are companies with experience in developing water, hydrogen and modern carbon technologies. These six organizations joined twenty other entities that had previously declared cooperation with BGK in the same areas.
“One year after the establishment of the 3W initiative, we still focus on cooperation with businesses. Courageous entrepreneurs are one of the cornerstones of our vision of a sustainable and competitive economy. Their knowledge and experience affect the rapid development of the 3W sector, and in the future they will certainly allow the implementation of a number of interesting projects”, said Adam Żelezik, Director of the Strategic Initiatives Office at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.
Purification and retention - water base
The recurrent annual droughts make it necessary to think about water in terms of a scarce resource, every drop of which matters. The 3W World was joined by a company enthusiastically sharing this approach. Biocent creates and develops technologies that allow for the treatment and management of domestic sewage and rainwater. The company has designed an innovative filter for petroleum-derived particles using the 3D printing method. This is the ninth water-focused organization in the 3D initiative.
Hydrogen - number one
Hydrogen is not only the first element of the periodic table, but also opens the list of fuels of the future. Poland is one of its world's leading producers. No wonder that there are also more domestic companies hydrogen-focused in the BGK initiative. Another one is SBB Energy, which operates in the energy and industry sectors. In recent years, the company has developed competences in the field of renewable energy, in particular in systems that help produce, store and use green hydrogen.
Resource synergy
Since the beginning of the 3W initiative, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego has indicated the unique interdependence of water, hydrogen and carbon. Their synergy is also confirmed by signatories of letters of intent, who often base their activities on two or even all those three resources. The Aqua Institute focuses on water and hydrogen. The company is working on product innovations relating to hydrogen collection and storage tanks, and is also looking for technological solutions in the field of water engineering.
Innovation with carbon in the background
Carbon is present in all living organisms. This element occurring in various forms has different and very valuable properties that are the basis of new technologies. NanoEMI - another signatory of the letter of intent - is a deep-tech company that manufactures 2D nanomaterials. The company produces graphene flakes and advanced composites based on them. 3W was also joined by Sygnis - a company with a wide range of business activities - from biotechnology, through energy, to nanotechnology. It also deals with 3D printing and uses carbon nanomaterials for this. Textile industry can see its own chance to use them, too. The Filati company, which represents the sector in the 3W world, produces functional, thermoactive sports and outdoor clothing using nanotechnology and carbon-based materials.
The 3W business ecosystem is still under construction. The 3W Idea supports the development of modern technologies in the area of water, hydrogen and modern carbon technologies, as well as sustainable development. More than 20 organizations with various profiles have already joined the BGK initiative, including Toyota Central Europe.
