The first members of the 3W Council - apart from the chairman - are: Jadwiga Emilewicz - Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development, Piotr Dardziński, PhD - president of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, and prof. Krzysztof Meissner - physicist and popularizer of science from the University of Warsaw. The experts are to create the intellectual background of the 3W Idea and will act as ambassadors of the initiative, especially in their communities. The composition of the Council will gradually expand.
- The 3W Idea has reached the next stage. After the first entrepreneurs have joined the initiative, after we have established the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center, now is the time for further actions. The 3W Council will include experts in sustainable development, innovation, chemistry, physics, and cooperation between the world of science and business. Their knowledge and experience will provide directions for the 3W initiative and promote it in the society, said Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, president of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and chairman of the 3W Council.
The 3W Council will provide opinions on the directions of social and economic development in the area of water, hydrogen, and modern carbon technologies. It will deal with cooperation between the world of science, business, and public administration, and will also analyze the regulations concerning this sector. An important task of the Council will also be to involve the society in the development of the 3W Idea. Members of the Council do not receive any remuneration for participating in its work.
During the first meeting, members of the 3W Council received appointments and adopted regulations. The sessions concerned, inter alia, the direction of the development of the 3W Idea, the closest activities of the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center, as well as the development perspectives of the initiative in the Three Seas countries. The Council also discussed the plan to organize the 3W Congress, which will be held in December this year.
The 3W initiative, announced by BGK in 2021, is developing on many levels. The initiative is still being joined by entrepreneurs. In May, in cooperation with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, the Łukasiewicz Research Network, and leading Polish universities, we established the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center (3W IIC). The next step in building a socio-economic ecosystem based on three key resources is the 3W Council, which will give directions for the development of the initiative itself and disseminate it in the society.
