We create a friendly ecosystem to facilitate the process of commercialising
innovative solutions for water, hydrogen and carbon (3W in Polish).

We reinforce cooperation between science and business

We strengthen cooperation between the world of business and administration and the world of universities and scientists through, among others, creating curricula of studies and training courses related to 3W. We initiate and develop international cooperation in the field of 3W with organisations having a similar profile to ICI.

We help commercialise inventions

We link the scientific community that seeks partners for commercialisation with the business community and support the acquisition of funds for developing 3W projects, with special emphasis on areas of mutual interest.

We support best technologies

We pilot 3W projects implemented at the Centre and coordinate participation of Members of the Centre in public consultations. We provide opinions concerning projects in terms of their innovativeness and compliance with the 3W concept and verify the technology readiness level. We offer legal consultations and assist in the process of obtaining patents.

We popularise the 3W Idea

We promote cooperation between the world of science, business and public administration in popularising the 3W Idea. We organise, among others, seminars, scientific workshops and conferences that raise awareness on the 3W initative and present good practices.

3W Interdisciplinary Innovations Centre is growing stronger. Eleven new partners, including the Jagiellonian University Since the beginning of 2023, eleven new partners have joined the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Centre (3W IIC), including 7 universities and 4 research institutes. The 3W initiative platform, which fosters cooperation between the world of science and business in the field of water, hydrogen and carbon technologies, currently consists of 29 entities.

Four New Universities Join the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovations Centre The Łódź University of Technology, the University of Economics in Katowice, the University of Agriculture in Kraków and the University of Wrocław are four new universities that joined the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovations Centre in December. This is another step of the 3W initiative on the way to a close cooperation between the world of science and business under the sign of water, hydrogen and carbon.

The work of the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center is gaining momentum Over 60 people took part in the first working meeting of the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center. Representatives of universities, research institutes, and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego met on June 9 at the Poznań University of Technology and online. A calendar of upcoming activities has been agreed upon. It was also decided to set up four working groups.

Panel: Nowy model współpracy nauki i biznesu w ramach inicjatywy 3W

Polish scientists and BGK will support innovative projects in the area of 3W: water, hydrogen, and carbon [in Polish: woda, wodór, węgiel] The 3W Idea focuses on three resources: water, hydrogen, and carbon, which BGK considers the resources of the future. The bank, hand in hand with the Łukasiewicz Research Network and eleven universities from all over Poland, will support Polish business in developing breakthrough technologies that use these resources.

BGK and its partners are establishing the 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center • At the ImpactCEE’22 conference, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego announced a new project in the 3W Idea, which BKG will implement with eleven leading Polish universities. • The 3W Interdisciplinary Innovation Center (ICI 3W) is to accelerate and facilitate the commercialisation of new technologies in the area of water, hydrogen, and carbon. • Apart from BGK, the Center’s establishment is also initiated by the Poznań University of Technology. The activities of the 3W ICI will be supported by the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
